When you have lessons with us you’ll hear some phrases very often until they become second nature to you. We’ve listed these below to give new learners a head start, and to help those about to take their test.

Remember, when there is little space:  Twenty is Plenty

When you stop behind a car for any reason, remember to park far enough behind them to see Tyres and Tarmac

When you pass through a crossroads, look both ways and think Cops and Robbers

When you approach a crossroads, don’t just look right and left, look over at cars coming from the opposite side, too. Remember to look Right, Over, Left, Over, Right.

When you turn into a new road, think New Roads, New Mirrors

Always look at your mirrors in pairs, Center and Right or Center and Left

Reverse manoeuvres depend on the driving instructor, as there are many ways to do them. We will teach you how to do it our way, but in case you want a reminder, when putting your car into reverse, you will be turning the wheel to You, to Me, to Me, to You

“I came to Nim, hopeless and deflated. After six years of learning to drive on and off I had almost completely given up.
Her belief in me along with adapting her teaching technique to my needs helped me gain the confidence and comfort in driving I had never felt before and I cannot thank her enough. Would recommend to anyone.”
